The officers and members are very proud of their new 25,000 square foot building that includes space for their union offices, union hall and most importantly their new state of the art training facility. We made the official move into the building in the summer of August 2006 and we continue to update our training facility.(See Pics & Graphics)

The Local 268 Golf Tournament will be held on (date to be determined). It will be held at the Riverside Golf Course, 1210 Larkin Williams Road, in Fenton at Noon. The cost is (to be determined) per golfer and checks should be made payable to Pat Dolan or Mike Margulis. Make sure to get your checks to them by (to be updated). Please include the names of your foursome. There are a limited amount of places so please send your money early and limit your foursome to the sprinkler industry. If we end up with more golfers than places, we may be able to secure some afternoon tee times; if that possibility works for your foursome make sure to let Mike or Pat know.

The Tenth Annual Burn Aid Tournament is scheduled for (to be determined). Last year’s Burn Aid Tournament was held on Friday, September 24, 2010 and was an overwhelming success. Over $15,000.00 was raised from the tournament and Sprinkler Fitters Local 268 members came up with another $30,000.00 for the Burns Recovered Support Group. The Sprinkler Fitters Charitable Foundation has presented checks totaling $245,000.00 and together with the tournament proceeds have presented over $400,000.00 over the last nine years to the Burns Recovered Support Group (BRSG). BRSG is the sponsor of the Missouri Children’s Burn Camp.

The Tournament is an effort to put Contractors, Suppliers and Members of the Local Union together with Fire and Building Code Officials and Legislators and to contribute to a very worthwhile cause at the same time. Thank you to all who participated and to those who contributed. (See Pics & Graphics See Pic BRSG1)

Members of Sprinkler Fitters Local 268 came through again in 2010 with another successful toy collection. The collection program began in 2002 to provide toys to area children in local hospitals at the request of a member whose child had been in the hospital during the Christmas season. The first year brought in over 750 toys, and each year the members have equaled or surpassed that number. As the gifts grew in number and size, the local added a few new local organizations as beneficiaries. Radio Flyer Wagons are always a favorite at the hospitals, and most years brought in several dozen of those wagons. Bicycles, radio controlled cars and CD players have been added to the mix. The toys have been distributed to Children's Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Mathews-Dickey Boys Club and other deserving organizations and groups.. (Not all of the toys collected during this year's drive are shown in the photo).(See Pics & Graphics)

We hope to continue this fine tradition in 2011.

Sprinkler Fitters Local 268 fielded two teams in the Fourth Annual Labor Club Picnic at Forest Park on Saturday, September 25, 2010. After defeating the other competition, the two teams were scheduled to compete against one another for first place. At the moment of truth the two teams dropped the rope and walked to congratulate each other. The competitors stated that, given the circumstances, there should be no losers and that sprinkler fitters were always unified. Ten thousand dollars of the money raised was presented to Shriners Hospital for Children. (See Pics & Graphics – Tug 2010)
